God Provides
Acts 17:25
1-9-11
“Nor is he worshiped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, since he gives to all life, breath and all things”. Everything w e enjoy in this life comes from God. He has provided everything we need to sustain us physically in the life. Acts 17:26 states, “he made from one blood every nation of men to dwell of the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and boundaries.” God created us, placed us on earth, determined our boundaries and has determined our course of time that we are to be here on earth. Having placed us here, He has provided all things physically that we need.
Our very existence depends upon him. Acts 17:28 tells us, “for in him we live and move and have our being”. Every breath of air we breathe is provided by God. In Matthew 5:45 we read, “that you may be sons of your Father in heaven, for he makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust”. All are blessed and provided for by their creator.
Matthew 6:28 says, “…so why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they neither toil nor spin.” In Matt. 6:30 we are told, “if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you”. Here is a great promise we have from our heavenly Father, clothing. Another one is found in Matt. 16:31: “do not worry, saying what shall we eat? Or what shall we wear? God provides all this for us, all these earthly blessings.”
But the greatest thing that God provides for us here on earth is our spiritual blessings. He has given us His word so that we may know what to do, how, and why. To receive these spiritual blessings, we must do according to God’s word. Accordingly, we read in 2 Peter 1:3: “…his divine power has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness, though the knowledge of him who called us by glory and virtue.”
