Matthew 16:18

“And I also say unto you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it”. Christ here promised to build a Kingdom that even the gates of Hades could not prevent from happening. Even his death upon the cross could not stop him from building his Church. This was God’s eternal purpose to build an eternal institution, which was accomplished though his Son and nothing could prevent this.

Christ shed blood made it possible for man to be reconciled to God the Father. Romans 6:17, 18. “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness”. Having been set free from sin, we are added to the Church which Christ built. Acts 2:47. In which we then have fellowship with the Father.

We have laws in this land we live which are peculiar to us as Americans. Those laws pertain to only us, not those of other nations. Our fore-fathers founded this nation on these Laws and by these we exist as a nation. These laws give importance to our nation. These Laws separate us from all others.

We see this is true also concerning the Nation of Israel. Moses spoke this concerning them. Deuteronomy 4:8. “And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day”. So, we see here what separated Israel from all others. Commandments.

But the Laws which govern this land will come to an end as the Law which governed Israel already has. Galatians 3:19. Each will have served a purpose. But the Church is an eternal institution which never comes to an end. It was built by and eternal being who has all authority. Matthew 28:18 and rules by Laws that is eternal. Peter so states this in John 6:68, “Lord, to whom we shall go? You have the words (commandments) of eternal life”. These words will judge and in the last day and determined our fate. John 12:48.

The Prophet Daniel tells us God will set a Kingdom which will never destroyed. Daniel 2:44. This Kingdom will consume all others. Why? It was built by and eternal being who has all authority to rule. This gives significance of importance to the Lord’s Church.
