Wise Or Foolish

Matthew 7:24,26

Vs. 24, “whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken unto a wise man”. Vs. 26, “every one that heareth these sayings o mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man”. How do you want to be remembered in life? As wise or foolish? Wisdom or foolishness. Which of the two do you possess?

The option of being wise or foolish is within man to do either one. We all have the ability to make a choice be wise or foolish. Eph. 5:15-17, Paul said, “see then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise. Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is”.

Wisdom is defined as, “the insight into the true nature of things, the ability to discern modes of action with a view of the result. Prudence in the management of affairs”. As Jesus advanced in wisdom, Luke 2:52, “and Jesus increased in wisdom”.  We also have that option. Which one will you choose, the wise or foolish?

If you want to seek wisdom, consider the words of Solomon, of whom God said, “I have given thee a wise and understanding heart. So that there hath been none like thee before thee, neither shall any arise like unto thee”. I Kings 3:12. Solomon speaks of wisdom in Proverbs 1:20-33. “wisdom crieth without. She uttereth her voice in the streets. She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates. In the city she uttereth her words, saying, how long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused. I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded. But ye have set at nought all my reproof. I also will laugh at your calamity. I will mock when your fear cometh. When your fear cometh as desolation’s, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind. When distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer. They shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. For that they have hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord. They would none of my counsel. They despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simply shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil”.

Remember the words of Joshua, who said, “choose you this day whom you will serve. Joshua 24:15.
